Gucci and British Furniture Designer Christopher Guy

Nestled in Ridgefield, WA, this breathtaking 7,777 sq ft mid-century modern residence, designed by renowned Hall of Fame architect Stephen Chase, marked my client's inaugural foray into homeownership.

I embarked on a journey to pay homage to the Hollywood Regency style inherent in its remarkable architecture, weaving opulent glamour into both the interior and the outdoor spaces.

HOLLYWOOD REGENCY STYLE IS ABOUT GLAMOUR MODERN OPULENCE AND OPEN FLOOR PLANS

Faced with a blank canvas devoid of furniture or decorative accent pieces, the task was to meticulously curate and acquire new elements that would not only reflect my clients' personalities, but also narrate their globetrotting adventures.

Balancing a blend of warmth and allure, my mission was to create a home that enveloped visitors with a sense of welcome and intimacy, while exuding modern grandeur and an alluring and electrifying vibe.

To honor the home's Old Hollywood architectural design style, I incorporated opulent textures like velvet, silk, and fur, along with a bold blend of animal prints and lavish fringing and added glistening metallic accents, stunning chandeliers and unique architectural lamps.

Black lacquered surfaces added a touch of drama, and bespoke furniture pieces amped up the overall glamour quotient.

DREAM MAKING WITH GUCCI

Enchanted by a set of Gucci armchairs, my clients envisioned them as unique dining chairs for their breakfast room. However, Gucci only provided these chairs in an armchair configuration, and the seat height posed an issue for dining.

As a designer and a visual storyteller, I transform ideas, aspirations and passions into tangible products and narratives to make my clients’ dreams come true.

The Gucci factory in Italy crafted a set of 8 custom dining chairs, perfectly tailored to the ideal dining height. The luxurious braided fringe adorning the chair bases is a true ode to Hollywood Regency style, harmonizing seamlessly with the captivating lipstick red GG velvet and the pair of framed Botero artworks.

TURN UP THE GLAM VOLUME

In the formal dining room I wrapped the feature wall in a gorgeous palm print metallic wallpaper, and gold leafed the recessed ceiling.

An oversized crystal drop chandelier from Italy, punctuates the ceiling perfectly, and sets the scene for the Christopher Guy custom dining table, carved tree velvet dining chairs and tall host chairs.

If you've ever lunched at the iconic Georgian restaurant on the 4th floor at Harrods in London, you will recognize the criss-cross legs of the signature CG chairs.

The serene elegance of the custom furnishings and colors in this space is an homage to one of my clients' most romantic trips to St. Tropez.

This space would not have been complete without a representation of the rebellious French starlet who put St.Tropez on the map. An iconic Douglas Kirkland black and white framed photograph of Brigitte Bardot takes pride of place above the tufted ottoman in the seating nook.
