VACATION AT HOME
An Outdoor Transformation
This half completed new construction 2-acre property had been totally neglected during the 18 months had been on the market. I was tasked with overseeing the project as project manager and finishing the buildout. My goal was to create a seamless design plan to incorporate traditional Hamptons style landscaping, an entertainers dream pool and spa, a large patio to host friends and family celebrations, multiple outdoor dining and living spaces, and well as a raised fire-pit and a luxury outdoor kitchen and bar.
THE DESIGN DETAILS
An indoor/outdoor lifestyle was important and we wanted to embrace the beautiful northwest summers. I planned varying levels of connecting yet independent spaces throughout for entertaining, pool parties and large family celebrations.
Hints of transitional design into the pool and outdoor areas combined with the warmth of the traditional Hampton design style of the house, resulted in an elegant seamless design that is usable in so many ways.
I focussed on varying shapes and levels in the pool for visual interest. The unique curved pool steps add softness and play off the arched details of the house.
A covered fireplace area with a TV and comfortable seating leads into the new outdoor kitchen and bar.
Contrasting charcoal steps take guests up to the stepping stone walkway and lawn to the raised circular fire pit. Recycled turquoise diamond glass glistens in the round fire pit.
